The Old Hag represents one half of the only remaining Coppertwaddle combination pairing: The Marriage (with The Curmudgeon).

Combination Pairings are pairs of cards that interact with each other ONLY (see also The Abbot); The Old Hag has the ability to cover The Curmudgeon, and vice versa.

It is strategically important that a player does not lay either of these two cards first, if at all possible, as this may lead to a difficult situation known as The Lock.
