Tastefully decorated in chocolate brown with glittery purple motifs, the ceramic toilet lies before you (cracked) with something rather unpleasant floating in its flooded bowl. The toilet roll holder contains a single cardboard tube but no paper – though a copy of The Times, torn into handy strips and stapled in the corner, is within arms reach. A framed piece of embroidery hangs on the back of the door. The room smells strongly of ammonia.
